His first wife was the daughter of Jacob Saey.  She was born ca. 1700 no doubt in Kaprijke.  She died in Sint-Laureins on 11.1.1737 (37 years old).  The estate reckonings of 19.6.1737 (Ambacht Maldegem) of Joanna Saey mention the paternal ward Pieter Van Ooteghem.
