B V a2     Antonius Franciscus Noë

fs Petrus (B IV a) and Maria Theresia De Bue;
brother of  Petrus EmmanuelFranciscus Antonius and of  Martinus

° Eeklo 18/2/1752
x Anna Catharina De Hulsters
† Eeklo 16/12/1809

When he was 23 he married Anna Catharina De Hulsters, who was 10 years his senior.  They lived in Eeklo in the "Hondekotstraatje" (Doghouse Road).

Antonius died there on 16/12/1809 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.  His neighbours, the 70 year old Pieter De Ruyter and the 25 year old weaver Norbert Verhasselt came to the city hall to register his death.  They thought he was 60 years old while in fact he was only 57.

Anna Catharina brought 7 children into this world.  Two of them were still-born.

  1. Joanna Theresia Noë
    ° Eeklo 3/2/1776
    † Eeklo 18/2/1784
  2. Maria Francisca Noë
    ° Eeklo 1/2/1778
    † Eeklo 30/8/1778
  3. NN, still-born on 31/10/1779
  4. Coleta Noë
    ° Eeklo 31/10/1779
On 12/10/1813 she married in her native town with Pierre Jean Van Basselaer, the widower of Adrienne Hendrickx who had died in St. Laureins on 22/12/1812.  Pierre Jean was born there on 17/1/1770, the son of Jean Baptiste Van Basselaer and Marie Françoise Bernarde Verbeke.  He was "journalier - cultivateur", a day labourer and farmer.
  5. Catharina Noë
    ° Eeklo 13/2/1782
She was barely 21 when on 11/5/1803 she married Pierre Jacques Loete in Eeklo.  He was born in Adegem on 29/2/1776, the son of Jean Loete and Anne Marie De Meyer, now living in the Vromboutstraat in Eeklo.  Catharina died on 25/5/1843 in Eeklo, in the institute of "charity", an old people's home for the poor.  Her husband was labourer.  He died in the Hondekotstraatje in Eeklo on 22-1-1841.  A "straatje" is a little street and "hondekot" means doghouse.  The Hondekotstraatje was no doubt not the place to be for the well-to-do.
  6. NN, still-born on 21/2/1786
  7. Josephus Joannes Noë
    ° Eeklo 8/6/1787
Married in Eeklo on 11/9/1809 with Angelina Symoens, born there on 28/7/1780 as the daughter of Jean François Symoens and Livina Vandenneste.  Josephus was a clog-maker in the "Boelare" (today still one of the main roads of Eeklo).  Angela gave him 2 daughters but 2 months after the birth of their youngest, he died at the age of 24.  Angelina then remarried with Ferdinandus Benedictus Van Watermeulen who was a shop keeper in the Boelare and "houtenschoppenmaker", which means his specialty was making wooden shovels. Angelina died there on 18/4/1854.
    Their children:
    • Rosalie Seraphina Noë
      ° Eeklo 26/6/1810
      † Eeklo 7/3/1811
    • Maria Theresia Noë
      ° Eeklo 10/12/1811
      Eeklo 8/6/1836 (unmarried).
